Target Area for Landing

I've seen a number of people make reference to 4-6 inches from the back wall as a target area...Is that the best location or should we be shooting for the back of the come box which is more like 14 inches?

This question can only be properly answered in terms of your own throw mechanics. If you are tossing at the prescribed 45-degree trajectory, then 6-8" is usually "ideal". If you have a lower trajectory, then your target area needs to be further out from the wall to bleed off the excess horizontal energy generated by the lower trajectory.
